The Association of Sewing and Design Professionals offers a wide variety of benefits to members, including an annual national educational conference, “member only” online discussion list, client referrals through the Website, email notices of job opportunities, access to professional suppliers, discounts on sewing supplies, a quarterly national newsletter and peer networking.

Joining a local chapter adds the benefits of regular meetings with sewing professionals in your area, local newsletters as well as classes, workshops and seminars. Membership in a local chapter is not required, but to join a local chapter you must be a member of the national organization.

Association members have the opportunity to showcase their work in the annual Threads Magazine/Association of Sewing and Design Professionals Challenge.  All Challenge participants can arrange to have their garments modeled in the fashion show. Winners receive valuable prizes and their garments are showcased in Threads Magazine and Website and modeled in the fashion show at the Association's annual national conference.
